Lolo Jones
She won two gold medals at the 2008 and 2010 World Indoor Championships
Despite being a favorite to win the 100-meter hurdles at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Jones faced a heartbreaking moment when she tripped on the penultimate hurdle, finishing in seventh place. However, she quickly rebounded by winning gold at the 2008 World Athletics Final, defeating Olympic champion Dawn Harper with a time of 12.56 seconds. Jones also held the American record in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.72 until 2018, when it was surpassed by Kendra Harrison and Sharika Nelvis, who both clocked 7.70.
In addition to her track and field career, Jones has made a significant impact in the sport of bobsledding. As a brakewoman for the U.S. national bobsled team, she won a gold medal in the mixed team event at the 2013 World Championships and another gold in the two-woman bobsled at the 2021 World Championships. Her participation in the 2014 Winter Olympics made her one of the rare athletes to compete in both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, further showcasing her athletic versatility and dedication to excellence.
Outside of her athletic achievements, Jones has become a well-known figure in popular culture, appearing on several reality TV shows such as Dancing with the Stars, Celebrity Big Brother, The Challenge, and Name That Tune. Her presence in the media has helped her reach a broader audience, making her an inspirational figure both on and off the field.
