Carla Overbeck is a retired American soccer player and longtime member and captian of the United States women's national soccer team. She first appeared with the U.S. national team in 1988 and was a member of the U.S. team that won the first-ever FIFA Women's World Cup in 1991. Overbeck played every minute of the 1995 FIFA Women's World Cup, the 1996 Summer Olympics, where they won the Gold Medal, and the 1999 Women's World Cup.
Overbeck retired from internatinal competition following the 2000 Summer Olypmics, finishing her career with 168 caps. In 2006, Overbeck was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
