The Carolina Panthers are a NFL team based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Panthers, along with the Jacksonville Jaguars, joined the NFL as expansion teams in 1995. The Panthers appeared in Super Bowl XXXVIII in Houston losing to the New England patriots led by Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady and won the game on a winning field goal by Adam Vinatieri. At the time, this was the most watched Super Bowl ever with 144.4 million viewers.
