Jeff Fisher
He is one of the most popular coaches to ever coach in the NFL
Before his coaching career, Fisher played college football at the University of Southern California (USC) and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the seventh round of the 1981 NFL Draft. He played five seasons as a cornerback and return specialist for the Bears, earning a Super Bowl ring in 1985, though he was on injured reserve during the championship season. Fisher's playing career was cut short due to injuries, but his transition to coaching was swift, as he took on various assistant coaching roles before becoming a head coach.
Fisher's most notable achievement as a head coach came in the 1999 season when he led the Tennessee Titans to Super Bowl XXXIV. The Titans came within one yard of potentially tying the game in a dramatic finish, but ultimately lost to the St. Louis Rams. Despite this near success, Fisher's career has been characterized by inconsistency, with only a handful of playoff appearances and a reputation for mediocrity. He is tied with Dan Reeves and Bill Belichick for the most regular-season losses in NFL history at 165, and his total losses rank third all-time.
After his NFL coaching career, Fisher took on a new role as the commissioner of Arena Football One, following his interim position as commissioner of the previous Arena Football League. His extensive experience in both playing and coaching has made him a respected figure in the football community, even though his coaching legacy remains a topic of debate. Fisher's leadership and knowledge of the game continue to influence the sport, particularly in his current administrative role.
