Gregg Popovich took over as head coach of the NBA team the San Antonio Spurs in 1996. He has the most consecutive winning seasons in NBA history at 17 wins. Popovich has won five NBA championships as the head coach of the Spurs, and is one of only five coaches in NBA history to win five or more NBA championships. Popovich has been an All-Star game head coach multiple times and won the NBA Coach of the Year award for the third time in 2014.
