The Florida Panthers are a professional ice hockey team based in Sunrise, Florida, in the Miami metropolitan area. They made their first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1996, getting beat by the Colorado Avalanche. They are joined in the Miami area by other local popular sports franchises in major sports (NBA Miami Heat, NFL Miami Dolphins, and MLB Florida Marlins).
The Florida Panthers won their first Stanley Cup championship in franchise history in 2024, defeating the Edmonton Oilers in a nail-biting Game 7.
