McMahon is the Chairman of the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Board of directors and majority shareholder of WWE. He spearheaded the rise of professional wrestling in America, and much of WWE's success in the recent past has been attributed to his efforts.

Aside from countless wrestling honors, McMahon was nominated for Sports Illustrated 'Sportsman of the Year' in 2006. In 2007, he served as the commencement speaker at Sacret Heart University, receiving the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. He was also the first person holding a professional wrestling title to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
