Madison Bumgarner attended the San Francisco Giants spring training in 2010, competing for the position of fifth starting pitcher. In July of that season, Bumgarner earned his first major league victory. In the postseason, he pitched eight shutout innings in Game 4 of the 2010 World Series, followed by a World Series win by the Giants the following game.
In 2012, Bumgarner pitched nine shutout innings to earn his first complete game and shutout and won career-high 16 baseball games. In the postseason, he pitched seven scoreless innings and struck out eight in Game 2 of the World Series.
In 2014, he played in his second All Star game, won the Silver Slugger and Willie Mac Award, and was the NLCS MVP. Bumgarner threw 52 2/3 innings that year and pitched five scoreless innings in Game 7 of the World Series, helping the Giants win their third World Series since 2010 and earning him the title of World Series MVP.
